MICK BOLTON Musician/singer/songwriter

Welcome to my website. Hopefully there is something for most music fans to enjoy, especially fans of the various artists I have worked with. Please come back again as I will be adding to it all the time with memories from nearly four decades of music making.

In the 1970s I played Hammond Organ with MOTT THE HOOPLE. Our support acts on tour included Queen, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Iggy Pop, Joe Walsh and The New York Dolls.

In the 1980s and early 1990s I toured and recorded with DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS and with PAUL BRADY, playing on the same bill as U2, Van Morrison and The Pogues among others. I also worked with Paul McCartney's wife LINDA McCARTNEY, writing with her and recording tracks that appeared on her album Wide Prairie.

Since the 1990s I have worked mainly as a solo artist throughout Scandinavia, Europe and the UK playing blues, boogie, jazz and original compositions as well as my own unusual versions of some pop and rock standards.

You can see live videos of some of my own songs on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/mickbolton1

News: ............for fans of Mott The Hoople there's a review of a recent gig by Ian Hunter and the Rant Band on my Reviews page.........I played at the at the annual songwriters' festival in Hastings on 16th May. It is known as Glass Eye and is held at Smugglers. It went really well and I've posted a clip of one of my songs on YouTube - YouTube - Mick Bolton - Rock And Roll Widow ......I had a great time at the annual Bob Dylan day in Hastings on March 23rd (a charity event where everyone that appears plays Dylan songs). It was very well organized and I got a great reception from the audience, so I look forward to doing it again next year.
